Why Choose a Student-Initiated Major at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ?

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s Student-Initiated Major (SIM) empowers students to take charge of their education by designing a personalized academic path tailored to their unique interests and career goals. This flexible program is ideal for highly motivated students whose academic and professional aspirations don’t fit neatly into a traditional major.

Working closely with faculty advisors, students craft an interdisciplinary curriculum that draws from multiple academic areas—integrating courses across departments to build a cohesive and meaningful degree. Whether your focus is on emerging industries, innovative career fields, or a blend of passions, the SIM allows you to chart your own course with academic rigor and purpose.

The Student-Initiated Major cultivates creativity, independence, and critical thinking—skills that employers and graduate programs value in today’s rapidly changing world.

At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ, your education doesn’t have to follow a single path. With the SIM, you have the freedom to shape it.

What You’ll Learn

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s Student Initiated Major (SIM) offers highly motivated and academically successful students the opportunity to design a personalized interdisciplinary degree program. Drawing from two or more academic disciplines, this unique option allows students to explore specialized interests, integrate diverse fields of study, and prepare for graduate work or careers that require a broad, customized knowledge base.
